Netflix has today given a series order to a live-action adaptation of the hit manga series One Piece. The first season will produce 10 episodes, with no premiere date window immediately announced.

The series follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew as they explore a fantastical world of endless oceans and exotic islands in search of the world's ultimate treasure known as "One Piece" to become the next Pirate King.

Steven Maeda developed the series and will serve as showrunner. He will executive produce with Matt Owens, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements and Eiichiro Oda. Tomorrow Studios will produce.

This is the second manga series being adapted into a live-action series through a partnership between Netflix and Tomorrow Studios. One Piece joins Cowboy Bebop at the streamer.
