TNT Announces Premiere Date for New Drama 'Snowpiercer' Starring Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs

During its presentation at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour, TNT announced the premiere date for the long-delayed original drama series Snowpiercer starring Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind) and Tony winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton).





The 10-episode first season will premiere on Sunday, May 31 at 9/8c. The drama has already been renewed for a second season, which is currently in production.

Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, the drama centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this television adaptation of the graphic novel and 2013 feature film.

In addition to Connelly and Diggs, the first season stars Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand and Jaylin Fletcher.

Graeme Manson developed the drama and serves as showrunner. He executive produces with Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Matthew O'Connor, Scott Derrickson, Bong Joon Ho, Miky Lee, Tae-sung Jeong, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun, Dooho Choi and director James Hawes. Tomorrow Studios produces.
