Casting News - Martin Freeman, Alex Karpovsky, Michael Angarano and Molly Ephraim Join 'Angelyne'; Plus 5 More Updates!

ABC's The Big Sky; DC Universe's Doom Patrol; NBC's Untitled Ted Danson Comedy; Netflix's Country Comfort; Peacock's Angelyne; and Syfy's Resident Alien.

  • John Carroll Lynch has been cast as a series regular on the upcoming drama created by David E. Kelley. He has recently recurred on FX's American Horror Story, HBO's Veep and NBC's Perfect Harmony.
  • He will play Rick Legarski, a grizzled good-ol'-boy Montana state trooper who outwardly seems dutiful and prideful in his police work as well as to the vast community he protects. However, there is more to this misunderstood man than meets the eye.
  • Martin Freeman, Alex Karpovksy, Jefferson Hall, Charlie Rowe, Lukas Gage, Michael Angarano and Molly Ephraim have joined the cast of the upcoming limited series starring Emmy Rossum.
  • Freeman (Sherlock, Breeders) will play the owner of a printing company who partners with Angelyne (Rossum) on her early billboard campaigns.
  • Karpovksy (Girls, Homecoming) will play a journalist with The Hollywood Reporter who broke the story about Angelyne's past.
  • Hall (Vikings, Devs) will play the president of the Angelyne Fan Club and a confidante of Angelyne's going back to the 1980s.
  • Rowe (Salvation, Vanity Fair) will play the photographer behind some of Angelyne's most famous billboard images.
  • Gage (American Vandal, Euphoria) will play a filmmaker working on a documentary about Angelyne.
  • Angarano (This Is Us, Will & Grace) will play a mysterious man from Angelyne's past.
  • Ephraim (Last Man Standing) will play a young star of an '80s sitcom who finds herself growing up in Angelyne's shadow.
  • Karen Obilom has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. She currently stars in BET's Games People Play, which will return for its second season later this year.
  • She will play Roni Evers, a military veteran with a mysterious past who Vic (Joivan Wade) meets while attending a PTSD support group.
  • Elizabeth Bowen has landed a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Alan Tudyk. She is currently recurring on a pair of upcoming comedies - Amaozn's Upload and Hulu's Woke.
  • She will play Liv Baker, the town's laid back and distracted deputy sheriff who occasionally questions the logic of her superior, Sheriff Mike (Corey Reynolds).
  • Eric Balfour and Janet Varney are set for recurring roles on the upcoming comedy starring Katharine McPhee and Eddie Cibrian. Balfour starred for five seasons in Syfy's Haven and is currently recurring on The CW's Charmed. Varney starred for three seasons in IFC's Stan Against Evil and recurred on FXX's You're the Worst.
  • Balfour will play Boone, Bailey's (McPhee) boyfriend.
  • Varney will play Summer, Beau's (Cibrian) girlfriend.
  • Kyla Kenedy will co-star on the upcoming comedy starring Ted Danson, Bobby Moynihan and Holly Hunter. She previously starred for three seasons in ABC's Speechless. She has also recurred on AMC's The Walking Dead and NBC's The Night Shift.
  • She will play Orly Bremer, the headstrong teenage daughter of Mayor Bremer (Danson).
