Netflix Orders 6 Episodes of Dramedy 'The Chair' Starring Sandra Oh and Jay Duplass

Netflix has today given a series order to the original half-hour dramedy series The Chair starring Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) and Jay Duplass (Transparent). The first season will produce six episodes.

The series centers on the Chair (Oh) of an English department at a major university.

Amanda Peet (Brockmire) will serve as showrunner after co-writing the premiere with Annie Julia Wyman. Peet and Oh will executive produce with Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss as well as Bernie Caulfield.

Despite the casting today, Oh will continue to star in her Emmy-nominated role on BBC America's Killing Eve - which returns for its third season in April and has already been renewed for a fourth season.

The series marks Peet's first time as a showrunner. She previously wrote the plays The Commons of Pensacola and Our Very Own Carlin McCullough. As an actress, she is currently finishing production on the second season of USA's anthology series Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story and will soon start production on HBO's upcoming drama The Gilded Age from Julian Fellowes.
