The CW Renews 'Stargirl' for Season 2

The CW has renewed the original drama series Stargirl for a second season, it was announced today. The drama will become a sole CW title after airing its first season on both the broadcast network and the streaming platform DC Universe.

The drama stars Brec Bassinger, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Cameron Gellman, Trae Romano, Jake Austin Walker, Meg DeLacy, Christopher James Baker, Hunter Sansone, Neil Jackson, Amy Smart and Luke Wilson.

Geoff Johns created the drama. He executive produces with co-showrunner Melissa Carter, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Greg Beeman. Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions and Mad Ghost Productions produce.

The drama based on the DC Comics characters was originally ordered to series at DC Universe in July 2018. Early in 2020, it was announced that the first season would also have a linear debut on The CW. New episodes have been released weekly - Mondays on DC Universe and Tuesdays at 8/7c. on The CW. The transition to being solely produced for The CW comes as DC Universe is cutting down on its original programming as the future of the platform remains in limbo.

The first season of the drama will also be available on HBO Max shortly after it completes airing its entire run later this summer.
