HBO Max Renews 'Doom Patrol' for Season 3

During the virtual DC FanDome event today, HBO Max announced that the original drama series Doom Patrol has been renewed for a third season. The drama will return with new episodes in 2021.

The drama stars Diane Guerrero, April Bowlby, Matt Bomer, Brendan Fraser, Joivan Wade and Timothy Dalton.

Jeremy Carver developed the drama based on the DC Comics characters. He executive produces with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns and Chris Dingess. Warner Bros. Television, DC Entertainment, Berlanti Productions and Jeremy Carver Productions produce.

"On behalf of the wonderful cast, writers and crew, we are thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to return to Doom Manor," said Carver. "And we are especially thankful for our partners at Berlanti Productions, Warner Bros. Television, DC Universe and, of course, HBO Max."

"Doom Patrol came to HBO Max with an already deep and passionate fan base and has risen to the top as one of the most-watched Max originals on the platform," said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max. "The series sits well in our portfolio and we are glad to greenlight a third season to continue this distinctive style of storytelling that resonates so well with critics and fans alike."

The drama's first season aired as an exclusive title on DC Universe. When it was renewed for its second season, it was announced that it would air on both HBO Max and DC Universe. And now, the migration to HBO Max has been solidified with this renewal as the future of scripted programming of DC Universe remains in limbo.
