Casting News - Mindy Kaling's 'The Sex Lives of College Girls' Sets Main Cast; Yasha Jackson to Recur on 'The Flight Attendant'

Casting News - October 14, 2020

HBO Max's The Flight Attendant and The Sex Lives of College Girls.

HBO MAX's THE SEX LIVES OF COLLEGE GIRLS
  • Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Reneé Rapp and Alyah Chanelle Scott will star in the upcoming comedy created by Mindy Kaling. Chalamet appeared in the 2020 film The King of Staten Island. Kaur has guest starred on CBS All Access' Star Trek: Short Treks and Freeform's The Bold Type. Rapp made her Broadway debut last year in the musical Mean Girls. Scott was a member of the U.S. national tour of the musical The Book of Mormon.
  • Chalamet will play Kimberly, the valedictorian of a working-class public high school in a humble Arizona suburb. Smart, caring, earnest and ambitious, she's prepared for college academically - but not so much socially.
  • Kaur will play Bela, a comedy-obsessed, super confident cornball from the affluent suburbs of northern New Jersey who is never afraid to say what she's thinking. She describes herself as "extremely sex positive" - even though she had sex for the first time 14 days ago.
  • Rapp will play Leighton, who would describe herself as a normal, classy girl from a great family. Others would describe her as blunt, judgmental and beyond entitled. Coming from one of the richest (and quietly Republican) families on New York City's Upper East Side, she is a fourth-generation legacy student at Essex College.
  • Scott will play Whitney. Strong and self-assured with a dry sense of humor, she is the soon-to-be star of the Essex soccer team. She is also the only daughter of the most powerful Black senator in the country. The graduate of an elite Los Angeles prep school, she chose an East Coast college to live her most exciting life.
HBO MAX's THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT
  • Yasha Jackson has booked a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Kaley Cuoco. She has previously recurred on Showtime's Ray Donovan, CBS' Blue Bloods, NBC's Manifest and Freeform's The Bold Type.
  • She will play Jada Harris, a flight attendant who shares routes with Cassie (Cuoco) and also works the First Class cabin. Polished, poised and skilled in the passive-aggressive arts, she can kill you with a cutting comment while still smiling.
