Casting News - October 23, 2020

Amazon's Outer Range and HBO's Scenes From a Marriage.

AMAZON's OUTER RANGE
  • Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski and Tom Pelphrey have been cast as series regulars on the upcoming drama starring Josh Brolin. Taylor starred for three seasons in ABC's American Crime and recently recurred on HBO's Perry Mason. Podemski has recurred on HBO's Run and The CW's Coroner. Pelphrey starred for two seasons in Netflix's Iron Fist and one season in Netflix's Ozark.
  • Taylor will play Cecilia Abbott, the matriarch of the Abbott family. She is a woman of deep faith, which she finds tested as never before.
  • Podemski will play Deputy Sheriff Joy. A life-long cop, she is running for county sheriff and is the first gay Native American to ever do so in Wyoming.
  • Pelphrey will play Perry Abbott, the dutiful, eldest Abbott son, who is torn up inside by the lingering mystery of his missing wife.
HBO's SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE
  • Jessica Chastain has been tapped to replace Michelle Williams as the female lead opposite Oscar Isaac in the upcoming limited series. Williams exited the role due to a scheduling conflict. Chastain received Academy Award nominations for The Help and Zero Dark Thirty. Her casting reunites her with Isaac after they starred in the 2014 film A Most Violent Year.
  • Based on the 1973 Swedish series from Ingmar Bergman, the project will examine love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple (played by Isaac and Chastain).
