Casting News - Anthony Ramos Boards 'In Treatment'; Virginia Williams to Recur on 'Why Women Kill'; Plus 3 More Updates!

Casting News - November 6, 2020

ABC's American Housewife; CBS All Access' Why Women Kill; The CW's All American & Walker; and HBO's In Treatment.

HBO's IN TREATMENT
  • Anthony Ramos has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming fourth season starring Uzo Aduba. He originated the roles of John Laurnes and Philip Hamilton in the hit Broadway musical Hamilton. He also starred for two seasons in Netflix's She's Gotta Have It. He next stars in the upcoming film adaptation of the musical In the Heights.
  • He will play Eladio, a patient who works as a home health aide for a wealthy family's adult son.
CBS ALL ACCESS' WHY WOMEN KILL
  • Virginia Williams, Jessica Phillips and Eileen Galindo have landed recurring roles on the anthology series' upcoming second season. Williams recently starred in Netflix's one-season comedy Teenage Bounty Hunters. Phillips starred in the U.S. tour of the musical Dear Evan Hansen before taking over the same role on Broadway. Galindo's guest credits include Showtime's The Affair, NBC's Chicago Fire, ABC's Stumptown and CBS' All Rise.
  • Williams will play Grace, one of the beautiful, wealthy, upscale women who are Rita's (Lana Parrilla) friends and members of the exclusive garden society. Unlike the other members though, she's sincere and warm and befriends the outsider, Alma (Allison Tolman).
  • Phillips will play Joan, a beautiful, upscale, entitled woman who is a member of a very exclusive garden society led by Rita. She laments that her son is having an affair with a much older woman.
  • Galindo will play Isabel, Rita's maid with a bit of an edge, wry and pragmatic. She is well aware that Rita is not only having an affair with a younger man, but had hoped and believed that her elderly husband would be dead by now. On the surface, she is the perfect maid, who helps with the garden party and other chores, but underneath it all she may understand Rita the best.
THE CW's ALL AMERICAN
  • Mike Merrill has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming third season. His guest credits include BET's The Bobby Brown Story, OWN's The Haves and the Have Nots and BET's American Soul.
  • He will play Christian Mosley, a young, hungry talent director who is J.P. Keating's (Elvis Nolasco) protégé.
THE CW's WALKER
  • Chris Labadie is set for a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Jared Padalecki and Lindsey Morgan. He previously appeared in the short films J'Adoube and Nightmare Smile.
  • He will play Jordan, a hardened, tough ex-con who is in the Green Thumb and Grace program - and he's also involved in a heroin smuggling operation. He's a smarmy guy who knows how to get under Walker's (Padalecki) skin.
ABC's AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE
  • Holly Robinson Peete has scored a recurring role on the comedy's fifth season. She previously starred for five seasons in FOX's 21 Jump Street, five seasons in ABC's Hangin' with Mr. Cooper and five seasons in The WB's For Your Love. She has also recurred on CBS' Mike & Molly and NBC's Chicago Fire.
  • She will play Tami, a close friend of Katie's (Katy Mixon) before the Ottos moved to Westport. She helped Katie quite a bit when Katie was a new mom - Katie always looked to Tami for advice, even considering her to be a "mom sensei." When Tami's two older children went off to college, she and her husband celebrated being empty-nesters. That celebration resulted in a now 8-year-old daughter. So when Tami moves to Westport with a youngster of her own, Katie is thrilled to reconnect with her old friend and hopes to return the favor and help her out.
