Casting News - Michael Stuhlbarg to Co-Star on 'Dopesick'; Ray Fisher Joins 'Women of the Movement'; Plus 4 More Updates!

ABC's Women of the Movement; The CW's Superman & Lois; HBO Max's Peacemaker; Hulu's Dopesick; Netflix's Brand New Cherry Flavor; and Starz's Black Mafia Family.




STARZ's BLACK MAFIA FAMILY
  • Russell Hornsby, Steve Harris and Arkeisha "Kash Doll" Knight have been cast on the upcoming drama created by Randy Huggins. Hornsby starred for six seasons in NBC's Grimm and in the Netflix limited series Seven Seconds. Harris starred for eight seasons in ABC's The Practice and one season in FOX's Filthy Rich. Knight is a rapper based in Detroit.
  • Hornsby will play Charles Flenory, the principled patriarch of the Flenory family and a struggling musician who uses faith, fortitude and humor to keep his family on the straight and narrow as he tries to save Terry from the outsized ambition and influence of his older brother Demetrius.
  • Harris will play Detective Bryant, a 20-year veteran of the Detroit Police Department, who has a longstanding relationship with Demetrius. When he gets assigned to the Down River Area Narcotics Operation - a real life, county-wide assault team on all local drug operations - he is put in direct conflict with Demetrius. He will be forced to choose between his career and his loyalty.
  • Knight will recur as Monique, a paralegal for the biggest defense attorney in Detroit and a strong single mom determined to give her daughter a better life. When it comes to being a parent, she's a practical provider. But away from work and home, she is creative, adventurous and one of Demetrius' lovers. But Meech and Monique's relationship is much more than just sex and pillow talk: her firm represents some of the biggest drug dealers in the city, which gives Meech and Terry and advantage in their rise through the streets.
THE CW's SUPERMAN & LOIS
  • Adam Rayner has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch. He previously starred for three seasons in FX's Tyrant and one season in ABC's The Fix.
  • He will play Morgan Edge, an intelligent, eloquent and impassioned self-made mogul who's innate ability to motivate is the means to his success and others' demise.
HBO MAX's PEACEMAKER
  • Chukwudi Iwuji, Lochlyn Munro, Annie Chang and Christopher Heyerdahl will co-star on the upcoming action comedy starring John Cena. Iwuji starred for two seasons in BBC One's The Split. Munro heavily recurred on The CW's Riverdale. Chang has previously recurred on NBC's Shades of Blue. Heyerdahl has recurred on Amazon's Tin Star, WGN America's Pure and Syfy's Van Helsing.
  • Iwuji will play Clemson Murn. Munro will recur as Larry Fitzgibbon. Chang will recur as Detective Sophie Song. Heyerdahl will recur as Captain Locke.
HULU's DOPESICK
  • Michael Stuhlbarg is set as a series regular on the upcoming limited series starring Michael Keaton, Peter Sarsgaard and Kaitlyn Dever. He received an Emmy Award nomination for his supporting performance in Hulu's The Looming Tower. He also starred for four seasons in HBO's Boardwalk Empire and in the third season of FX's Fargo. He is currently starring in the Showtime limited series Your Honor.
  • He will play Richard Sackler, the son of Purdue Pharma founder Raymond Sackler and nephew of famed medical advertising guru Arthur Sackler. He oversaw the development and marketing of OxyContin.
ABC's WOMEN OF THE MOVEMENT
  • Ray Fisher has booked a series regular role on the upcoming limited series starring Adrienne Warren, Niecy Nash and Glynn Turman. He has played Victor Stone aka Cyborg in the DC feature films Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. In television, he previously starred in the third season of HBO's True Detective.
  • He will play Gene Mobley, the man who would have been Emmett Till's (Cedric Joe) stepfather, if not for his murder. A devoted partner to Emmett's mother, Mamie (Warren), he was considered the love of her life. They later married.
NETFLIX's BRAND NEW CHERRY FLAVOR
  • Hannah Levien, Leland Orser and Patrick Fischler have landed recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Rosa Salazar. Levien has previously recurred on Syfy's The Magicians and Freeform's Siren. Orser starred for three seasons in Epix's Berlin Station and in the TNT limited series I Am the Night. Fischler starred for two seasons in Syfy's Happy! and in the first season of Disney+'s The Right Stuff.
  • Levien will play Christine. Orser will play Mike Nathans. Fischler will play Alvin Sender.
