Amazon's Harlem; AMC's 61st Street; The CW's Legacies; Hulu's Conversations with Friends; and Netflix's True Story





AMC's 61ST STREET
  • Holt McCallany, Aunjanue Ellis, Killian Scott and Andrene Ward-Hammond will co-star on the upcoming drama starring Courtney B. Vance and Tosin Cole. McCallany starred for two seasons in Netflix's Mindhunter. Ellis starred in the first season of HBO's Lovecraft Country, which also featured Vance. Scott starred in the Starz limited series Dublin Murders. Ward-Hammond has previously recurred on NBC's Manifest and Showtime's Your Honor.
  • McCallany will play Tardelli, a Chicago police lieutenant running a hard, dirty squad. He believes in keeping peace on the streets by force, no matter the cost.
  • Ellis will play Martha Roberts, a candidate for alderman on the South Side who is very skilled at telling the voting public that her drive and ambition will be placed at their service. The wife of Franklin Roberts (Vance) and a former stay-at-home mom to their autistic son, David, she is torn between her burgeoning career in politics and the needs of her family.
  • Scott will play Rocco Andretti, a legacy Chicago police officer. When a murder occurs on the streets during a drug bust gone wrong, he's forced to question his commitment to the department while examining his own morality.
  • Ward-Hammond will play Norma Johnson, a cleaning lady at the local courthouse and a dedicated mother to her two sons, Moses (Cole) and Joshua (Bentley Green). Her world is rocked when Moses, a promising high school athlete, is swept up into the infamously corrupt Chicago criminal justice system.
HULU's CONVERSATIONS WITH FRIENDS
  • Joe Alwyn, Jemima Kirke, Sasha Lane and Alison Oliver will star in the upcoming limited series based on the novel by Sally Rooney. Alwyn starred in the 2018 feature film The Favourite. Kirke starred for six seasons in HBO's Girls. Lane starred in Amazon's one-season drama Utopia. Oliver is a relative newcomer.
  • The series follows Frances (Oliver) and Bobbi (Lane), inseparable former lovers, who become fascinated by married couple Melissa (Kirke) and Nick (Alwyn) to the point that Nick and Frances embark on an intense secret affair. Soon the affair begins to test the bond between Frances and Bobbi, forcing Frances to reconsider her sense of self and her friendship.
AMAZON's HARLEM
  • Whoopi Goldberg and Jasmine Guy have landed recurring roles on the upcoming comedy (previously untitled) starring Meagan Good. Goldberg has served as a co-host on ABC's The View since 2007. She recently starred in the CBS All Access limited series The Stand. Guy starred for six seasons in NBC's A Different World. She has recently recurred on BET's The Quad and ABC's Grey's Anatomy.
  • Goldberg will play Dr. Elise Pruitt, the brilliant, intense new department head at Columbia University with a warmth that has a fragile on/off switch.
  • Guy will play Patricia, Quinn's (Grace Byers) wealthy mother who wants her daughter to give up her seemingly failing career as a designer and just settle down.
NETFLIX's TRUE STORY
  • Tawny Newsome, Will Catlett, Paul Adelstein, Ash Santos, John Ales, Chris Diamantopoulos, Lauren London and Billy Zane have joined the cast of the upcoming limited series starring Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes. Newsome currently stars in Netflix's Space Force and CBS All Access' Star Trek: Lower Decks, which have both been renewed for second seasons. Catlett has recurred on all four seasons of The CW's Black Lightning. Adelstein starred for three seasons in FOX's Prison Break, six seasons in ABC's Private Practice and two seasons in Bravo's Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce. Santos recurred on FX's American Horror Story: Apocalypse. Ales starred for two seasons in FX's Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll. Diamantopoulos starred for two seasons in HBO's Silicon Valley. London currently stars in BET's Games People Play, which has been renewed for a second season. Zane starred in the 1997 feature film Titanic.
  • Newsome will play Billie, a talented comedy writer who works for Kid (Hart). She is constantly trying to earn respect and recognition for her work, leaving her stuck between loyalty to Kid or pursuing her long-term dreams through other outlets.
  • Catlett will play Herschel, a man of few words, a jack-of-all-trades bodyguard who is a constant presence in Kid's life. He has a quiet sense of humor and takes the chaos surrounding Kid in stride, but struggles to keep Kid safe once he and his brother Carlton (Snipes) grow closer.
  • Adelstein will play Todd, Kid's longtime manager. His years navigating the industry with Kid has made them close like brothers. He struggles to find the balance between friend and manager as Kid faces ongoing challenges with Carlton.
  • Santos will play Daphne, an outgoing young woman who joins Carlton and Kid at a VIP afterparty that continues to an eventful night.
  • Ales will play Nikos. Bringing a whole new definition to a close knit family, he will stop at nothing to make sure his brothers Savvas and Ari are safe.
  • Diamantopoulos will play Savvas. Part of the same close knit family that knows no limit, he values the safety and success of his brothers Nikos and Ari over anything.
  • London will play Monyca. Faced with new challenges of co-parenting a child with Kid, she still enjoys a close bond with her ex.
  • Zane will play Ari. Coldly unfazed by the nature of his job, he helps make problems go away.
THE CW's LEGACIES
  • Courtney Bandeko has booked a recurring role on the drama's third season. She previously appeared in the SnapChat original series Dead of Night.
  • She will play Finch, a student at Mystic Falls High School who is no stranger to getting into trouble. While a loner by nature, that all changes when she meets a transfer student who understands her in a way that no one ever has.
