Netflix has today given a series order to the original drama series The Midnight Club based on the 1994 novel by Christopher Pike. The drama will produce 10 episodes in its first season.
The series is set at Rotterdam Home, a hospice where teenagers with terminal illnesses go to die. A group of five young men and women meet at midnight and tell stories of intrigue and horror. One night they make a pact that the first of them to die will make every effort to contact the others from beyond the grave.
The cast includes Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, William Chris Sumpter, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Matt Biedel, Samantha Sloyan and Heather Langenkamp.
Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong developed the drama, with Flanagan also directing the first two episodes. They will executive produce with Pike, Trevor Macy and Julia Bicknell. Intrepid Pictures will produce in association with Netflix.
