Casting News - March 2, 2021

ABC's Untitled Baldwin/Grammer Comedy; Netflix's The Woman in the House; and Showtime's The First Lady.

SHOWTIME's THE FIRST LADY
  • Dakota Fanning has joined the cast of the upcoming anthology drama starring Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer and Gillian Anderson. She recently starred for two seasons in TNT's The Alienist. She previously starred alongside Pfeiffer in the 2001 feature film I Am Sam.
  • She will play Susan Elizabeth Ford, the only daughter and youngest child of President Gerald Ford (Aaron Eckhart) and Betty Ford (Pfeiffer). As a teenage in the White House during the tumultuous mid-70s, she often introduced progressive ideas to the presidential family.
NETFLIX's THE WOMAN IN THE HOUSE
  • Mary Holland, Shelley Hennig, Christina Anthony, Samsara Yett, Cameron Britton and Benjamin Levy Aguilar will co-star on the upcoming limited series starring Kristen Bell and Tom Riley. Holland previously starred for two seasons in Starz's Blunt Talk. Hennig starred for three seasons in MTV's Teen Wolf. Anthony currently stars in ABC's Mixed-ish, which is now airing its second season. Yett recurred on HBO Max's The Flight Attendant. Britton received an Emmy Award nomination for his guest performance in Netflix's Mindhunter. Aguilar starred in FOX's one-season drama Filthy Rich.
  • Holland will play Sloane, a local art gallery owner and Anna's (Bell) loyal best friend. Dry-witted and not one to mince words, she steadfastly encourages Anna to put her life back together.
  • Hennig will play Lisa, who is sweet and sexy, but is there more than meets the eye beneath her seemingly shallow surface? Anna certainly thinks so.
  • Anthony will play Detective Lane, smart and no-nonsense. At first dismissive of Anna, she gradually becomes determined to get to the bottom of it all.
  • Yett will play Emma, Neil's (Riley) adorable 9-year-old daughter. Anna is instantly drawn to this sweet little gril who reminds her of her own daughter.
  • Britton will play Buell, Anna's sweet, simple-minded handyman. Always accommodating, always polite and always around.
  • Aguilar will play Rex, who may not be the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but he's definitely the hottest and hard for women to resist.
ABC's UNTITLED BALDWIN/GRAMMER COMEDY
  • Alec Mapa will play the third lead opposite Alec Baldwin and Kelsey Grammer in the upcoming comedy. He has previously recurred on ABC's Desperate Housewives, Freeform's Switched at Birth, Lifetime's Devious Maids, HBO Max's Doom Patrol and Nickelodeon's Henry Danger.
  • He will play Andre, the third roommate from the old days in New York. A gay man with a highly empathetic nature, he often is called upon to keep the peace between Channing (Baldwin) and London (Grammer) while also attempting to find a romantic and professional success that have so far eluded him.
