Casting News - March 25, 2021

Amazon's The Terminal List; The CW's All American, Batwoman & The Republic of Sarah; HBO's Untitled Lakers Drama; and Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer.

THE CW's BATWOMAN

HBO's UNTITLED LOS ANGELES LAKERS DRAMA
  • Bo Burnham and Jason Segel have joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring John C. Reilly, Jason Clarke, Adrien Brody and Sally Field. Burnham wrote and directed the 2018 feature film Eighth Grade. He recently starred in the 2020 film Promising Young Woman, which was nominated for five Academy Awards. Segel previously starred for nine seasons in CBS' How I Met Your Mother. He also created and starred in the AMC limited series Dispatches From Elsewhere (which featured Field as well).

Having played his entire professional career for the Boston Celtics, he helped lead the team to three NBA Championships. His time with the team also included a legendary rivalry with the Los Angeles.
  • Segel will play Paul Westhead, a Shakespeare professor who leaves grading papers behind to be assistant coach of the Lakers. In Los Angeles, he steps into a drama straight off the Bard's page (of which he is fond of quoting).
THE CW's ALL AMERICAN

  • He will play Donny Mitchell, a Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class. Fresh out of training, he is James Reece's (Pratt) baby-faced youngest team member. While the other guys crack jokes as a way to cope with what they've seen, Donny's feisty sense of humor is different. He's only seen the brotherhood of the SEALs in time of strength, not yet in times of suffering. As the platoon's point man, he is the first to lead the team into unsecured territory.
