Disney+ has today given a series order to an adaptation of the hit film franchise National Treasure from Jerry Bruckheimer. The series will produce 10 episodes for the streaming service.
With her diverse group of friends, 20-year-old DREAMer Jess Morales sets out on the adventure of a lifetime to uncover her mysterious family history and recover lost treasure.
Marianne and Cormac Wibberley created the series, with Mira Nair set to direct. They will executive produce with Bruckheimer. ABC Signature and Jerry Bruckheimer Television will produce.
The original National Treasure feature film starring Nicholas Cage, Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha and Jon Voight was released in 2004. A sequel, titled Book of Secrets, was released in 2007. A third feature film has been in development for years.
