Casting News - April 9, 2021

AppleTV+'s Five Days at Memorial; The CW's Supergirl; and Netflix's On My Block.

THE CW's SUPERGIRL
  • Peta Sergeant is set as a new series regular on the drama's sixth and final season. She has previously recurred on FX's Snowfall, Hulu's Castle Rock and The CW's The Originals.
  • She will play Nyxly, a quirky and kind 5th Dimensional imp, wrongly imprisoned in the Phantom Zone and driven by tragic backstory. She helps Kara (Melissa Benoist) when she least expects it, and their budding friendship not only heals some of Nyxly's emotional pain, but helps Nyxly reclaim her own power.
NETFLIX's ON MY BLOCK
  • Peggy Blow has been promoted to series regular on the comedy's upcoming fourth and final season. She has heavily recurred on all three seasons to date - appearing in 21 episodes. She has also guest starred on ABC's How to Get Away With Murder, FX's Snowfall, Showtime's I'm Dying Up Here and FX's The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.
  • She plays Abuelita, an age-defying, pot-smoking eccentric who says it like it is and is always on standby for a life and unwelcome advice.
APPLE TV+'s FIVE DAYS AT MEMORIAL
  • Cornelius Smith Jr. has joined the cast of the upcoming limited series starring Vera Farmiga. He previously starred for three seasons in ABC's Scandal. He has also recurred on CBS' God Friended Me, Netflix's Self Made and Spectrum's Manhunt: Deadly Games.
  • He will play Dr. Bryant King, an internist and one of the few doctors of color at the hospital. He finds himself very much in the middle of the crisis.
