Casting News - Alexander Skarsgård Books Recurring Role on 'Succession'; Luke Evans to Star in 'Echo 3'; Plus 2 More Updates!

AppleTV+'s Echo 3; CBS' CSI: Vegas; HBO's Succession; and HBO Max's Love Life.





HBO's SUCCESSION
  • Alexander Skarsgård has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming third season. He won an Emmy Award in 2017 for his supporting role in HBO's Big Little Lies. He previously starred for seven seasons in HBO's True Blood, in the AMC limited series The Little Drummer Girl and in the CBS All Access limited series The Stand.
  • He will play Lukas Matsson, a successful, confrontational tech founder and CEO.
APPLE TV+'s ECHO 3
  • Luke Evans will star in the upcoming drama created by Mark Boal and Jason Horwitch. He previously starred for two seasons in TNT's The Alienist. He next stars in Hulu's upcoming limited series Nine Perfect Strangers opposite Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy.
  • He will play Bambi, Amber's brother.
CBS' CSI: VEGAS
  • Paul Guilfoyle will reprise his CSI role on a recurring basis in the upcoming spinoff starring William Petersen and Jorja Fox. Jamie McShane has also been cast in a recurring role today. Guilfoyle previously starred for fourteen seasons in the original series. McShane starred for three seasons in Netflix's Bloodline.
  • Guilfoyle plays Jim Brass.
  • McShane will play Anson Wix, a civil attorney. A self-made scrapper, he's someone you'd want in your corner, but the last person you'd want to face off. After years of hard work, he now has his own practice.
HBO MAX's LOVE LIFE
  • Jessica Williams, Chris Powell, Janet Hubert, Jordan Rock and Maya Kazan have joined the cast of the anthology's upcoming second season starring William Jackson Harper. Williams previously starred for two seasons in HBO's 2 Dope Queens. Powell recurred on Comedy Central's Detroiters. Hubert starred for three seasons in NBC's The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Rock recurred on Netflix's Love. Kazan starred for two seasons in Cinemax's The Knick.
  • Williams will play Mia Hines, the beautiful, intelligent and somewhat unknowable object of Marcus' (Harper) affection. After forming a connection early in the season, she challenges Marcus' ideas about himself and how he moves through the world.
  • Powell will play Yogi. Charming and gregarious, he is committed to his girlfriend and two children, but lives vicariously through Marcus' exploits, offering unsolicited advice.
  • Hubert will play Donna Watkins, Marcus' caring and perceptive mother who worries about her son as he struggles to find himself.
  • Rock will play Trae Lang, a confident, young writer who is resistant to Marcus' notes and feedback on his debut novel, forcing Marcus to re-evaluate his role in publishing.
  • Kazan will play Emily Hexton, Marcus' well-meaning and supportive wife, who he met in grad school before the two of them moved to New York together. But as compatible as they may once have been, we meet them at a point where they seem to have grown apart.
