Casting News - July 30, 2021

Peacock's A.P. Bio and Showtime's The First Lady.

PEACOCK's A.P. BIO
  • Bruce Campbell will appear in the comedy's upcoming fourth season. He is best known for starring in the Evil Dead franchise - appearing in three feature films and three seasons of the television spinoff on Starz. He also starred for seven seasons in USA's Burn Notice.
  • He will play John Griffin, Jack's (Glenn Howerton) father. An absent father to Jack most of his life, he recently had a spiritual awakening with hopes to reconnect with his adult son.
SHOWTIME's THE FIRST LADY
  • Clea DuVall and Charlie Plummer have joined the cast of the upcoming anthology drama starring Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer and Gillian Anderson. DuVall co-created and voices a lead character in FOX's HouseBroken, which is now airing its first season. Plummer starred in the Hulu limited series Looking for Alaska.
  • DuVall will play Malvina "Tommy" Thompson, Eleanor Roosevelt's (Anderson) trusted assistant, secretary, traveling companion, gatekeeper and dear friend. Irreverent, funny and a shrewd judge of character, she was utterly devoted to Eleanor and together they trailblazed women's advocacy, taking no prisoners as they went.
  • Plummer will play young Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Born into a famously patrician American family, he quickly shed all that in the New York Senate for a life of service to his country. He married Eleanor in 1905, and though he was stricken by polio in 1921, his youthful resilience and vitality predicted great political success.
