As the series has just wrapped production on its third season, TNT has today given an extremely early fourth season renewal to its original drama series Snowpiercer. The third season is slated to air early next year, with the fourth likely debuting in 2023.

The third season picks up with Layton and his inner circle commanding a small pirate train in search of Melanie and a possible warm location to restart civilization, aided by a newfound survivor. The drama stars Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Rowan Blanchard, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand, Steven Ogg, Chelsea Harris, Archie Panjabi and Sean Bean.

Showrunner Graeme Manson executive produces with Aubrey Nealon, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Matthew O'Connor, Ben Rosenblatt, Scott Derrickson, Bong Joon Ho, Miky Lee, Jinnie Choi, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and Dooho Choi. ITV Studios, Tomorrow Studios and CJ Entertainment produce.

"Snowpiercer has been an incredibly successful series for us that continues to capture the imagination of viewers, grow audience and maintain strong ratings," said Sam Linsky and Adrienne O'Riain, Co-Heads of Scripted Original Programming, TBS, TNT and TruTV. "All of our seasons embark on an emotional, unexpected ride and the well-plotted storylines will continue to evolve and remain relevant to audiences. We're excited to keep the train running into season four."
