'Fatal Attraction' Starring Lizzy Caplan Ordered to Series at Paramount+

Paramount+ has today given a series order to the original drama series Fatal Attraction based on the 1987 feature film starring Michael Douglas and Glenn Close. Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex, Castle Rock) will star as the female lead in the series.

A deep-dive reimagining of the classic psychosexual thriller, the series will explore fatal attraction and the timeless themes of marriage and infidelity, through the lens of modern attitudes towards strong women, personality disorders and coercive control.

Caplan will star as Alex, who becomes obsessed with her lover after a brief affair.

Alexandra Cunningham (Dirty John) developed the drama. She will executive produce with Kevin J. Hynes, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey. Paramount Television Studios and Amblin Television will produce.

"Alexandra brings an incredibly strong and nuanced point of view to a story that became a cultural phenomenon, but has thus far only been told from the male gaze," said Nicole Clemens, President of Original Scripted Series, Paramount+. "Partnered with Kevin, they will bring the next explosive chapter of this story to a new generation, with a balanced eye to the complexities of the human psyche."
