Casting News - Aubrey Plaza Visits 'The White Lotus'; 'Promised Land' and 'Super Pumped' Add Guest Stars; Plus 1 More Update!

ABC's Promised Land; HBO's The White Lotus; Netflix's All the Light We Cannot See; and Showtime's Super Pumped.

  • Mark Ruffalo and Hugh Laurie will star opposite newcomer Aria Mia Loberti in the upcoming limited series based on the novel by Anthony Doerr. Ruffalo won an Emmy Award in 2020 for his lead performance in the HBO limited series I Know This Much Is True. Laurie has received 10 Emmy Award nominations for his work as either an actor or producer on FOX's House, AMC's The Night Manager and HBO's Veep.
  • Ruffalo will play Daniel LeBlanc, the principal locksmith at the Museum of Natural History in Paris. Caring and clever, he's determined to give his blind daughter Marie (Loberti) as much independence as he can while also protecting her - and the secret gem they carry - from Nazi occupation.
  • Laurie will play Etienne LeBlanc, an eccentric and reclusive World War I hero suffering from PTSD. He is a nervous shut-in who records clandestine radio broadcasts as part of the French Resistance.
  • Aubrey Plaza has joined the cast of the upcoming second installment of the anthology series. She previously starred for seven seasons in NBC's Parks and Recreation and three seasons in FX's Legion. She also stars in FXX's upcoming animated comedy Little Demon and the Hulu drama pilot Olga Dies Dreaming.
  • She will play Harper Spiller, a woman on vacation with her husband and his friends.
  • Yul Vazquez, Julio Macias, Ariana Guerra, Tom Amandes, Kerri Medders, Natalia del Riego and Miguel Angel Garcia have landed recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring John Ortiz. Vazquez previously starred in the HBO limited series The Outsider. Macias starred for two seasons in Netflix's On My Block. Guerra starred in Hulu's one-season drama Helstrom. Amandes has recurred on ABC's Scandal, NBC's Parenthood and Syfy's The Magicians. Medders has recurred on Netflix's Alexa & Katie and Paramount+'s SEAL Team. Del Riego has recurred on Freeform's Party of Five and ABC's The Rookie. Garcia recurred on FOX's Deputy.
  • Vazquez will play Father Ramos, a Catholic priest, who has compassion and good humor tinged with a certain world-weariness. Apparently just another man of God, he knows quite a few secrets about the Sandoval family.
  • Macias will play Javier, the newly hired General Manager at the Heritage House Vineyard, and the son of the vineyard's now-retired foreman.
  • Guerra will play Rosa. Fueled by dreams of becoming a nurse in her new home of California, she doesn't give up on her dreams even as her circumstances become increasingly grim.
  • Amandes will play O.M. Honeycroft. An intimidating, all-powerful presence, he is a successful businessman who isn't afraid to get his hards dirty - after all, it's the soil and its fruit that made him rich.
  • Medders will play Margaret, the ambitious, beautiful daughter of O.M. Honeycroft, the wealthy owner of the Honeycroft Estate.
  • Del Riego will play Daniela, a new employee at the home of the Sandoval family, and an undocumented immigrant.
  • Garcia will play Junior, the youngest child of the Sandoval family, and the most erratic. His siblings think he can be trusted with little or nothing, but his father Joe (Ortiz), the family patriarch, still holds out hope and a special affection for his troubled son.
  • Ian Alda, Sonny Valicenti, Ben Feldman, Rob Morrow, Rama Vallury and Eva Victor have booked recurring roles on the upcoming anthology drama starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kyle Chandler and Uma Thurman. Alda previously recurred on HBO's Silicon Valley. Valicenti recurred on Netflix's Mindhunter. Feldman starred for two seasons in Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva, two seasons in AMC's Mad Men and six seasons in NBC's Superstore. Morrow starred for six seasons in CBS' Northern Exposure and six seasons in CBS' Numb3rs. Vallury voices Nicky in Nickelodeon's Tooned In. Victor currently recurs on Showtime's Billions.
  • Alda will play Peter Fenton, a young partner at venture capital firm Benchmark.
  • Valicenti will play Matt Cohler, a young Benchmark partner.
  • Feldman will play Larry Page, the co-founder of Google.
  • Morrow will play Eddie Cue, a senior executive at Apple.
  • Vallury will play Tahir Kahn, a top engineer at Uber.
  • Victor will play Susan Fowler, an engineer who upends the culture at Uber.
