Casting News - Jorja Fox Won't Return for Season 2 of 'CSI: Vegas'; Annaleigh Ashford Joins 'Immigrant'; Plus 2 More Updates!

Casting News - January 25, 2022

AppleTV+'s Physical; CBS' CSI: Vegas; Hulu's Immigrant; and Peacock's Pitch Perfect.

  • Jorja Fox will not be returning to the drama for its upcoming second season. She previously starred as Sara Sidle in all fifteen seasons of the original run of CSI on CBS as well as its follow-up movie "Immortality." Both Fox and William Petersen reprised their roles in the first season of the new spinoff. Petersen signed a one-season deal and previously opted not to return for the second season.
  • Fox explained her exit as such: "After much deliberating, I have decided not to 'Sidle up' for CSI: Vegas. For me, CSI has always been a love story. The story that people can find love in the darkest of places and times. And the story that love, even in the darkest of places and times, can expand and grow roots and endure. I personally just can't split Sara and Grissom up again. So goes Grissom... So goes Sara. Wherever they go, they belong together."
  • Annaleigh Ashford has joined the cast of the upcoming limited series starring Kumail Nanjiani and Murray Bartlett. She currently stars in CBS' B Positive, which is now airing its second season. She previously starred for three seasons in Showtime's Masters of Sex and in the FX limited series Impeachment: American Crime Story. And finally, she won a Tony Award in 2015 for her featured performance in the play You Can't Take It With You.
  • She will play Irene, an accountant by trade and the wife of Chippendales founder Steve Banerjee (Nanjiani). They fall in love over a shared passion for tax loopholes and revenue expansion. Shy and unassuming at first, Irene steadily finds her footing within the company, growing into a formidable behind-the-scenes powerhouse.
  • Flula Borg will reprise his role from the film franchise in the upcoming spinoff series starring Adam Devine. He previously appeared in 2015's Pitch Perfect 2. He also appeared in the 2021 film The Suicide Squad and recurred on Starz's Counterpart.
  • He plays Pieter Krämer, who invites Bumper Allen (Devine) to move to Germany to revive his music career when one of his songs becomes big in Berlin. Pieter has transitioned from German a cappella star to discredited German music manager. He signs Bumper as his only client, and brings him to Berlin to pursue his dreams.
  • Murray Bartlett will appear in the dramedy's upcoming second season. He previously starred for two seasons in HBO's Looking, in the Netflix limited series Tales of the City and in the first season of HBO's The White Lotus.
  • He will play Vincent "Vinnie" Green, a charismatic fitness instructor, weight loss guru and late-night infomercial pioneer. He and Sheila (Rose Byrne) are both friends and rivals who struggle privately with personal demons.
