Paramount+ Renews 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' for Season 2

Months ahead of its series debut, Paramount+ has today renewed its original drama series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds for a second season. The streamer has also today revealed the premiere date for the drama's first season.





The 10-episode first season will debut on Thursday, May 5 - with new episodes being released weekly on Thursdays.

A spinoff of Star Trek: Discovery following characters introduced in its second season, the new drama will follow Captain Christopher Pike, Number One and Science Officer Spock in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.

The drama stars Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Babs Olusanmokun, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Jess Bush, Melissa Navia and Bruce Horak.

Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers serve as co-showrunners for the first season. They executive produce with Alex Kurtzman, Jenny Lumet, Heather Kadin, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth and Aaron Baiers. CBS Studios, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment produce.
