AppleTV+ has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original limited series The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey starring Samuel L. Jackson.

The 6-episode season will debut on Friday, March 11 with its first two episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Friday.

Based on the novel by Walter Mosley, Ptolemy Grey (Jackson) is an ailing man forgotten by his family, by his friends, and by even himself. Suddenly left without his trusted caretaker and on the brink of sinking even deeper into a lonely dementia, Ptolemy is assigned to the care of orphaned teenager Robyn. When they learn about a treatment that can restore Ptolemy's dementia-addled memories, it begins a journey toward shocking truths about the past, present and future.

In addition to Jackson, the limited series stars Dominique Fishback, Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, Damon Gupton, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Walton Goggins and Omar Miller.

Mosley adapted his novel and serves as showrunner for the limited series. He executive produces alongside Jackson, Diane Houslin, Ramin Bahrani, Eli Selden, David Levine and LaTanya Richardson Jackson. Apple Studios and Anonymous Content produce.
