Netflix Renews 'Stranger Things' for Final Season; Splits Season 4 Into Two Parts

Netflix has today announced that the upcoming fourth season of its original drama series Stranger Things will be split into two parts. Moreover, the streamer renewed the drama for a fifth and final season.

The first volume of Season 4 episodes - five overall - will be available on Friday, May 27. The second volume of episodes - the final four - will then be released on Friday, July 1.

It's been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time - and navigating the complexities of high school hasn't made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

The drama stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, Brett Gelman, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco and Joseph Quinn.

The Duffer Brothers created the drama. They executive produce with Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and Iain Paterson. 21 Laps Entertainment and Monkey Massacre Productions produce.
