Disney+ Announces Premiere Date for New Drama 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' Starring Ewan McGregor

Disney+ has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original drama series Obi-Wan Kenobi starring Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master.






The drama will debut on Wednesday, May 25 with new episodes being released weekly.

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat - the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

In addition to McGregor, the drama stars Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.

Joby Harold serves as showrunner for the first season. He executive produces with McGregor, Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan and director Deborah Chow. LucasFilm produces.
