New Drama 'Tokyo Vice' Starring Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe Receives Premiere Date on HBO Max

HBO Max has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Tokyo Vice starring Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe.

The drama will debut on Thursday, April 7 with its first three episodes. Two new episodes will then be released every Thursday until the season finale on April 28.

Loosely inspired by American journalist Jake Adelstein's non-fiction first-hand account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat, the drama captures Adelstein's (Elgort) daily descent into the neon-soaked underbelly of Tokyo in the late '90s, where nothing and no one is truly what or who they seem.

In addition to Elgort and Watanabe, the drama stars Rinko Kikuchi, Rachel Keller, Ella Rumpf, Hideaki Ito, Show Kasamatsu and Tomohisa Yamashita.

J.T. Rogers created the drama, with Michael Mann directing the premiere. They executive produce with Elgort, Watanabe, Alan Poul, Jake Adelstein, Emily Gerson Saines, Brad Kane, Destin Daniel Cretton, Kayo Washio and John Lesher. Endeavor Content produces.
