Casting News - Golda Rosheuval, Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemmell to Reprise 'Bridgerton' Roles in Prequel; Plus 3 More Updates!

Amazon's Fallout; AppleTV+'s City on Fire & Manhunt; and Netflix's Untitled Bridgerton Prequel.

  • Matt Walsh has joined the cast of the upcoming limited series starring Tobias Menzies. He previously starred for seven seasons in HBO's Veep, receiving two Emmy Award nominations for his supporting performance.
  • He will play Dr. Samuel Mudd, who treated John Wilkes Booth's (Anthony Boyle) broken leg the night President Abraham Lincoln was shot. He did not report Booth to the authorities until days later and was then imprisoned for conspiring with the assassin.
  • Ella Purnell will play the female lead opposite Walton Goggins in the upcoming drama based on the video game franchise. She recently starred in the first season of Showtime's Yellowjackets. She previously starred for two seasons in Starz's Sweetbitter.
  • She will play Jean, a young woman with a can-do attitude who may be hiding a dangerous secret.
  • Jemima Kirke, Nico Tortorella, Ashley Zukerman, Xavier Clyde, Max Milner, Alexandra Doke, Omid Abtahi, Kathleen Munroe and John Cameron Mitchell will co-star on the upcoming drama starring Wyatt Oleff and Chase Sui Wonders. Kirke previously starred for six seasons in HBO's Girls and in the third season of Netflix's Sex Education. Tortorella starred for seven seasons in TV Land's Younger and two seasons in AMC's The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Zukerman starred in Peacock's one-season drama The Lost Symbol. Clyde appeared in the short film Hard. Milner competed on the first season of BBC One's The Voice UK. Doke guest starred on FOX's 9-1-1 and ABC's Grey's Anatomy. Abtahi starred for two seasons in Starz's American Gods. Munroe starred for two seasons in Amazon's Patriot. Mitchell starred in the Peacock limited series Joe vs. Carole.
  • Kirke will play Regan, the daughter of a Manhattan real estate scion who strives to succeed on her own.
  • Tortorella will play William, a brilliant but self-destructive artist living in Manhattan.
  • Zukerman will play Keith, Regan's husband, whose all American charm continues to help him fail upward.
  • Clyde will play Mercer, William's boyfriend who moved to New York from rural Georgia to write the next great American novel and embrace his true self.
  • Milner will play Nicky Chaos, a charismatic activist and revolutionary with a group of followers dedicated to war against the 1%.
  • Doke will play Sewer Girl, the bleeding heart of Nicky's crew.
  • Abtahi will play Ali Parsa, the workaholic detective assigned to Samantha's (Wonders) case.
  • Munroe will play PJ McFadden, a no-nonsense detective assigned to work on Samantha's case.
  • Mitchell will play Amory, an influential and powerful executive in Manhattan, as ruthless as he is charming.
  • Golda Rosheuval, Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemmell will reprise their Bridgerton roles in the upcoming prequel created by Shonda Rhimes. All three actresses currently star in the Netflix drama, which released its second season last week and has already been renewed for its third and fourth seasons. Rosheuval plays Queen Charlotte, Andoh plays Lady Agatha Danbury, and Gemmell plays Lady Violet Bridgerton.
  • India Amarteifio, Michelle Fairley, Corey Mylchreest, Arsema Thomas, Sam Clemmett, Richard Cunningham, Tunji Kasim, Rob Maloney, Cyril Nri and Hugh Sachs have also been cast in the drama today.
  • Amarteifio will play Young Queen Charlotte. Betrothed to the mysterious King of England against her will, she arrives in London only to realize she was not exactly what the royals were expecting. As she learns to navigate the palace, the ton and her unpredictable husband, she grows into one of Europe's most unforgettable monarchs.

  • Mylchreest will play Young King George. Handsome, charismatic and a bit of a mystery, he has always bowed to the restraints placed on him as the Crown. Until now. Having to share his space, and bed, with his new wife forces George to face his hidden demons head-on.
  • Thomas will play Young Agatha Danbury. Under the thumb of a much older husband, she uses Charlotte's arrival to find her own way into society. With keen knowledge of the once divided social scene and the intricacies of marriage, she becomes a guiding light for the new Queen, all while finding her own voice and power.
  • Clemmett will play Young Brimsley. Cunningham will play Lord Bute. Kasim will play Adolphus. Maloney will play the Royal Doctor. Nri will play Lord Danbury.
  • Sachs plays Brimsley - a role he has been seen in as a recurring guest star in Bridgerton's first two seasons.
