New Comedy 'I Love That For You' Starring Vanessa Bayer Receives Premiere Date on Showtime

Showtime has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original comedy series I Love That For You starring Vanessa Bayer (Saturday Night Live).

The 8-episode first season will premiere on Sunday, May 1 at 8:30/7:30c. The series premiere will be available for streaming and on demand for all Showtime subscribers starting on Friday, April 29. New episodes will continue to be available via streaming and on-demand platforms every Friday before their linear debuts on Sunday nights.

Inspired by Bayer's own story of overcoming childhood leukemia, the comedy centers on Joanna Gold (Bayer), who dreams of becoming a host at a home shopping channel. Working to shed her life-long label as "that cancer girl," she moves away from her parents, starts a budding romance for the first time in her adult life and forms a meaningful friendship with her idol Jackie, the charismatic star of the network, all against the backdrop of a highly competitive workplace where people play dirty to succeed.

In addition to Bayer, the comedy stars Molly Shannon, Paul James, Ayden Mayeri, Matt Rogers, Punam Patel and Jenifer Lewis.

Bayer co-created the comedy with Jeremy Beiler. Jessi Klein serves as showrunner for the first season. All three executive produce with Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle, Jordana Mollick, Allyce Ozarski and director Michael Showalter. Annapurna Television and Semi-Formal Productions produce.
