STARZ's RUN THE WORLD
- Tika Sumpter, Comedian CP, Isha Blaaker, Cree Summer and Ashley Blaine Featherson-Jenkins have been cast in recurring roles on the comedy's upcoming second season. Sumpter previously starred for eight seasons in OWN's The Haves and the Have Nots and two seasons in ABC's Mixed-ish. Comedian CP starred in the second season of HBO Max's Love Life. Blaaker recurred on HBO Max's The Flight Attendant. Summer wrote and recurred on FX's Better Things. Featherson-Jenkins starred for four seasons in Netflix's Dear White People.
- Sumpter will play Naomi, the biological mother of Amari (Ellie Reine) who has returned home from the Navy. With the assertiveness of a military officer, she immediately reclaims her position in Amari's life, leaving Sondi (Corbin Reid) to question her place in this new family dynamic.
- Comedian CP will play Preston Thurgood, a multimillionaire who has no need to put on airs in order to get Renee's (Bresha Webb) attention. He could give her everything she's ever wanted, but she's not so sure if he's really the love of her life.
- Blaaker will play Phillip Houston, Whitney's (Amber Stevens West) business school rival who has returned from London fresh off a breakup of his own. Now that they're both single, sparks might start to fly.
- Summer will play Dr. Monica Mitchell, the ladies' wise and trusting new therapist.
- Featherson-Jenkins will play India Blue, a beautiful and confident singer/songwriter/producer.
AMAZON's THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL
- Alfie Fuller and Jason Ralph have been promoted to series regulars on the comedy's upcoming fifth and final season. Both actors recurred during the comedy's fourth season - with Fuller appearing in four episodes, while Ralph was in two episodes. Ralph is also the real-life husband of the comedy's Emmy-winning star Rachel Brosnahan.
- Fuller plays Dinah Rutledge, Susie's (Alex Borstein) receptionist. Ralph plays Mike Carr, a booker on Gordon Ford's (Reid Scott) talk show.
- Furthermore, Kelly Bishop will return as a guest star in the final season as Benedetta, a matchmaker and rival to Rose (Marin Hinkle). New recurring guest stars include Peter Friedman, Chloë Kerwin, Austin Basis, Josh Grisetti, Michael Cyril Creighton, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Lucas Kavner.
- No details were immediately released about the characters to be played by the new cast additions today.
CBS' YOUNG SHELDON
- Emily Osment has been upped to a series regular on the comedy's upcoming sixth season. She is currently recurring on the fifth season - appearing in six episodes so far. She previously starred for five seasons in Freeform's Young & Hungry and in Netflix's one-season comedy Pretty Smart. She also recurred on CBS' Mom and Netflix's The Kominsky Method.
- She plays Mandy McAllister, an attractive, strong-willed woman in her late twenties who is struggling with the discovery that she's pregnant with Georgie's (Montana Jordan) baby. She's also dealing with the fact that Georgie lied to her about how young he is.
APPLE TV+'s THE AFTERPARTY
- Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson and Zoë Chao will reprise their roles in the anthology comedy's upcoming second season. They will be joined by new series regulars Elizabeth Perkins (Sharp Objects), Zach Woods (Silicon Valley), Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird), Poppy Liu (Hacks), Anna Konkle (PEN15), Jack Whitehall (Jungle Cruise) and Vivian Wu (Away).
- Haddish plays Detective Danner. Richardson plays Aniq. Chao plays Zoe.
- Perkins will play Isabel. Woods will play Edgar. Hauser will play Travis. Liu will play Grace. Konkle will play Hannah. Whitehall will play Sebastian. Wu will play Vivian.
FREEFORM's CRUEL SUMMER
- Lexi Underwood has been tapped to replace Eloise Payet in a lead role on the anthology drama's upcoming second season. The recasting happened after the character was reworked at the start of production. Underwood previously starred in the Hulu limited series Little Fires Everywhere and is currently recurring on Showtime's The First Lady.
- She will play Isabella, the daughter of foreign diplomats, who is spending a year as an exchange student with the Landry family. She quickly shakes up life in the small town, but her charm can't hide the truth about her past, or the real reason she came to live with the Landrys, forever.
