Disney+ Reveals Premiere Date for New Drama 'Andor' Starring Diego Luna

Disney+ has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama Andor starring Diego Luna, reprising his role from the 2016 feature film Rogue One.






The 12-episode first season will launch on Wednesday, August 31 with its first two episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Wednesday.

The drama will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor's (Luna) journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It's an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

In addition to Luna, the drama stars Genevieve O'Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller.

Tony Gilroy created the drama. He executive produces with Luna, Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg and Michelle Rejwan. LucasFilm produces.

Production on the 12-episode second season will begin this fall.
