HBO has today announced that Academy Award winner Jodie Foster (The Accused, The Silence of the Lambs) will star in the upcoming fourth installment of anthology drama True Detective - which is now officially moving ahead with production.

The new season centers around Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro, who are looking to solve the case of six men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanishing without a trace, when the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska.
