  • Cathy Bui, Lynn Kim Do, Jazelle Villanueva, Quentin Nguyen-Duy, Alejandro Akara, Audrey Huynh and Cat Ly will star in the drama pilot written by Natalie Chaidez and Dinh Thai. Bui stars in the short film All I Ever Wanted. Do guest starred on CBS' FBI: Most Wanted and FX's Pose. Villanueva stars in the web series Valets. Nguyen-Duy recurred on NBC's Law & Order: SVU. Akara recurred on FX's Mayans M.C. Huynh recurred on Cartoon Network's We Bare Bears and Netflix's The Boss Baby: Back in Business. Ly starred in the 2007 feature film Owl and the Sparrow.
  • Bui will play Anh, a hard-working girl focused on getting into a top college. However, her dream is derailed when she and her best friend Jenny are forced into a scheme that leads them to a street gang.
  • Do will play Jenny, born to a well-off family but constricted by her parents' expectations. When a traumatic event leaves her emotionally scarred, the typically outspoken Jenny enlists her best friend Anh in a dangerous plan.
  • Villanueva will play Dang-Dang, a ferocious young woman who can't seem to escape her troubled past. She is initially at odds with Jenny but forms a surprising and deep friendship with Jenny and Anh.
  • Nguyen-Duy will play Richie, a rising member of a local street gang with musical aspirations. Anh and Jenny are surprised to learn he is their former classmate, who has transformed from a nerdy kid to a charming young man.
  • Akara will play Gabriel, Anh's ex-boyfriend who's still in love with her, but his parents' overly conservative views pose complications.
  • Huynh will play Bella, Jenny's younger sister who presents a perfect front for her parents but relaxes into the snarky teen she really is away from their eyes.
  • Ly will play Ah-Yee, Anh's aunt, a strong-willed Chinese Vietnamese American restaurant owner who's blindsided by an extortionist.
