Netflix Reveals Premiere Date for New Drama 'The Sandman' Starring Tom Sturridge, Boyd Holbrook and Gwendoline Christie

During its Geeked Week presentation today, Netflix announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama The Sandman based on the comic by Neil Gaiman.






All 10 episodes of the drama's first season will be available on Friday, August 5.

When the Sandman, aka Dream - the powerful cosmic being who controls all our dreams - is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for over a century, he must journey across different worlds and timelines to fix the chaos his absence has caused.

The drama stars Tom Sturridge, Boyd Holbrook, Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Gwendoline Christie, Charles Dance, Jenna Coleman, David Thewlis, Stephen Fry, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Vanesu Samunyai, John Cameron Mitchell, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Joely Richardson, Niamh Walsh, Sandra James Young, Razane Jammal and Mark Hamill.

Gaiman developed the drama with David S. Goyer and showrunner Allan Heinberg. Warner Bros. Television produces.
