Casting News - August 2, 2022

ABC's Not Dead Yet & Station 19; AMC's The Driver; AppleTV+'s The Big Cigar; CBS' CSI: Vegas; and Netflix's A Man in Full.

ABC's NOT DEAD YET
  • Hannah Simone has been cast as a series regular on the upcoming comedy starring Gina Rodriguez. She previously starred for seven seasons in FOX's New Girl.
  • She will play Sam, the editor of the Life & Style section of the newspaper and a busy working mom. A former wild child, she has hit her stride and seems to handle everything thrown her way with ease and an organized "mom purse." But underneath this exterior, Sam struggles with taking too much on and misses her carefree single days when it was her and Nell (Rodriguez) against the world. She's torn between her big work goals and missing the person she was before the kids and the big job. Hopefully, having Nell back will help her find that balance.
APPLE TV+'s THE BIG CIGAR
  • Moses Ingram has booked a recurring role on the upcoming limited series starring André Holland and Tiffany Boone. She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2021 for her supporting performance in the Netflix limited series The Queen's Gambit. She recently starred in the Disney+ limited series Obi-Wan Kenobi and next stars in AppleTV+'s upcoming limited series Lady in the Lake opposite Natalie Portman.
  • She will play Teressa Dixon, a former telephone operator turned rising star in the Black Panther Party and a close confidante of Huey P. Newton (Holland).
NETFLIX's A MAN IN FULL
  • William Jackson Harper, Tom Pelphrey, Aml Ameen, Sarah Jones, Jon Michael Hill and Chanté Adams will co-star on the upcoming limited series starring Jeff Daniels and Diane Lane. Harper currently stars in the Peacock anthology series The Resort. Pelphrey is currently nominated for an Emmy Award for his performance in Netflix's Ozark. Ameen recently starred in the BET+ limited series The Porter. Jones starred for two seasons in AppleTV+'s For All Mankind. Hill starred for seven seasons in CBS' Elementary. Adams stars in Amazon's upcoming comedy A League of Their Own
  • Harper will play Wes Jordan, the incumbent mayor of Atlanta who's up for re-election. He will do whatever it takes to ensure victory over his opponent, who is quickly gaining in the polls.
  • Pelphrey will play Raymond Peepgrass, an oppressed and lowly loan officer on the verge of personal and professional chaos. Subordinated, libidinous and frustrated, he wants respect but he'll settle for sex, vengeance and some money.
  • Ameen will play Roger White, an attorney for Croker Industries. Kind and driven by a deep sense of morality, he quickly finds himself entangled in Charlie's (Daniels) mess.
  • Jones will play Serena Croker, Charlie's second wife. She's an authentic Southern beauty who is both a voice of reason and a steady hand as Charlie's world tilts off-axis.
  • Hill will play Conrad Hensley, a humble, hardworking employee of Croker Industries who faces a life-altering decision after a series of unfortunate events.
  • Adams will play Jill Hensley, Charlie's beloved executive assistant. Married to Conrad Hensley, the couple is expecting their first child when their personal life suddenly turns.
ABC's STATION 19

The three actors have previously recurred on the drama - with Dandridge appearing in nine episodes, Randall appearing in eighteen episodes, and Healy appearing in fifteen episodes.
  • Dandridge plays Chief Natasha Ross. Although she comes from a strict and tough military background, she remains the calm within the storm at work, energetic and compassionate. Her personal life is messy in a way that could damage her career.
  • Randall plays Captain Sean Beckett, a career firefighter with a drinking problem and a sense of humor that is usually only funny to him.
  • Healy plays Michael Dixon, the former chief who stands for everything the crew at Station 19 despises. He is currently running for mayor.

  • Johnstone will play Jack, Sonya's intelligent, curious, and optimistic older brother and the assistant Medical Examiner.
