BBC America Announces Premiere Date for New Drama 'Mood' Created by and Starring Nicôle Lecky

BBC America has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Mood created by and starring Nicôle Lecky.

The 6-episode first season will launch on Sunday, November 6 at 8/7c. The first two episodes will be available on AMC+, with subsequent episodes being released weekly.

Based on Lecky's play "Superhoe," Sasha Clayton (Lecky) dreams of becoming a major recording artist, but right now she's a bedroom artist: spending her days smoking weed and stalking her ex-boyfriend on Instagram. When she is kicked out of her family home for drunkenly trying to burn her ex's house down, Sasha becomes homeless and is forced to fend for herself, sofa-surfing with local drug dealer Saleem. Everything seems to change when she meets and moves in with Instagram influencer and party girl Carly, who introduces her to the exciting world of making money and becoming "famous" on social media. But as the gap between her online presence and her dream of being a singer continues to grow, Sasha finds herself struggling to escape this new influencer world that is more complex and darker than she could have imagined.

In addition to Lecky, the drama stars Jessica Hynes, Paul Kaye, Mia Jenkins, Jordan Duvigneau, Mohammad Dalmar, Lara Peake, Flo Wilson, Jordan Myrie, Jason York, Chantelle Alle and Ebony Aboagye.

Lecky executive produces with Margery Bone, Lucy Richer, Ayela Butt and directors Dawn Shadforth and Stroma Cairns. BBC Studios and Bonafide Films produce.
