AppleTV+'s Sinking Spring; CBS' So Help Me Todd; HBO's The Sympathizer; and HBO Max's Dead Boy Detectives & Tokyo Vice.

  • Sandra Oh, Kieu Chinh and Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen have landed recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Robert Downey Jr. Oh previously starred for ten seasons in ABC's Grey's Anatomy, four seasons in BBC America's Killing Eve and in the Netflix limited series The Chair. Chinh appeared in the films The Joy Luck Club, 21 and City of Angels. Nguyen hosts the Vietnamese variety show Paris by Night.
  • Oh will play Ms. Sofia Mori, a liberated feminist who in the midst of a love triangle begins to awaken to the complexity of her own Asian American identity.
  • Chinh will play the Major's Mother. Homesick for Vietnam, she doesn't find an easy fit with her new circumstances, in contrast to her son who has jumped in feet first.
  • Nguyen will play Madame, the General's (Toan Le) wife, an elegant and commanding matriarch who's desperate to keep her daughter modest and her husband from unraveling as they restart their lives as refugees.
  • Eliza Coupe will appear in an upcoming episode of the drama's first season. She previously starred for three seasons in ABC's Happy Endings and three seasons in Hulu's Future Man.
  • She will play Veronica, the private eye who set up Todd (Skylar Astin) to take the fall for her illegal wiretapping and forgery two years ago.
  • Kate Mulgrew has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Brian Tyree Henry, Michael Mando and Marin Ireland. She previously starred for seven seasons in UPN's Star Trek: Voyager and seven seasons in Netflix's Orange Is the New Black. She recently recurred on Showtime's The Man Who Fell to Earth and Showtime's The First Lady.
  • She will play Theresa Bowers, Ray's (Henry) de facto mother who steps in to raise him as if he were her own child.
  • Aoi Takeya has been cast on the drama's upcoming second season. He currently stars in the short film Inheritance, which premiered at Tribeca this year.
  • He will play Jason Oki, a Japanese American member of the US Foreign Service who gets pulled into Jake (Ansel Elgort) and his colleagues' hunt to uncover the secrets of yakuza crime lord Shinzo Tozawa (Ayumi Tanida).
  • David Iacono has booked a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri and Kassius Nelson. He previously recurred on HBO Max's The Flight Attendant and Amazon's The Summer I Turned Pretty.
  • He will play David the Demon, a powerful and threatening demon who torments Crystal (Nelson) and the Dead Boys (Rexstrew and Revri).
