HBO Max Cancels 'Minx'; Reversing Previous Season 2 Renewal

Despite previously being renewed, HBO Max has today decided not to move forward with the second season of its original comedy series Minx. Production on the second season was nearly complete when the cancellation was announced. Lionsgate Television is expecting to shop the series to other outlets.

The comedy starred Ophelia Lovibond, Jake Johnson, Michael Angarano, Jessica Lowe, Oscar Montoya, Lennon Parham and Idara Victor.

Ellen Rapoport created the comedy. She executive produced with Paul Feig, Dan Magnante, Ben Karlin and Rachel Lee Goldenberg. Lionsgate Television and Feigco Entertainment produced.

Minx is the latest series to be pulled following the merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery, Inc. earlier this year. The first season is expected to be pulled from HBO Max shortly as well. Because the comedy is completely owned by Lionsgate (instead of a studio owned by Warner Bros. Discovery), it may have a stronger case for the two seasons to be picked up by another outlet.
