Casting News - Nicole Kidman Joins 'Lioness'; Ruth Negga to Play Female Lead in 'Presumed Innocent'; Plus 1 More Update!

AppleTV+'s Presumed Innocent; FX's Fargo; and Paramount+'s Lioness.

  • Nicole Kidman has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Zoe SaldaƱa and Laysla De Oliveira. As previously announced with the drama's series order, Kidman also serves as an executive producer under her production company, Blossom Films. As an actress, she has received five Academy Award nominations - winning in 2003 for her performance in the film The Hours. Furthermore, she has received three Emmy Award nominations - winning twice in 2017 for producing and performing in HBO's Big Little Lies.
  • She will play Kaitlyn Meade, the CIA's senior supervisor who has had a long career of playing the politics game. She must juggle the trappings of being a woman in the high-ranking intelligence community, a wife who longs for the attention she herself can't even give and a mentor to someone veering suspiciously close to the same rocky road she's found herself on.
  • Ruth Negga will play the female lead opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in the upcoming limited series developed by David E. Kelley. She received an Academy Award nomination in 2016 for her performance in the film Loving. She also received a Tony Award nomination in 2022 for her performance in the play Macbeth. And finally, she previously starred for four seasons in AMC's Preacher
  • She will play Barbara Sabich, an artist, gallerist, mother and wife whose life is upended when her husband, Rusty Sabich (Gyllenhaal), is accused of murdering his mistress. Barbara fights to keep her family intact as she tends to her broken heart and broken marriage, and contends with her husband's highly publicized trial.
  • Lukas Gage has booked a recurring role on the upcoming fifth installment of the anthology drama. He previously recurred on HBO's The White Lotus, Peacock's Angelyne, Hulu's Love, Victor and HBO's Euphoria. He will next star in the upcoming fourth season of Netflix's You and recur on HBO Max's upcoming drama Dead Boy Detectives.
  • He will play Lars Olmstead.
