Starz Picks Up Drama 'Three Women' Starring Shailene Woodley Following Showtime Departure

A week after Showtime dropped the series, Starz has today picked up the original drama series Three Women starring Shailene Woodley. Production has already been completed on the entire season, which will air later this year.

In an intimate, haunting portrayal of American female desire, three women are on a crash course to radically overturn their lives. Lina, a homemaker in suburban Indiana, is a decade into a passionless marriage when she embarks on an affair that quickly becomes all-consuming and transforms her life. Sloane, a glamorous entrepreneur in the Northeast, has a committed open marriage with Richard, until two sexy new strangers threaten their aspirational love story. Maggie, a student in North Dakota, weathers an intense storm after accusing her married English teacher of an inappropriate relationship. Gia (Woodley), a writer grieving the loss of her family, persuades each of these three spectacular "ordinary' women to tell her their stories, and her relationships with them change over the course of her life forever.

In addition to Woodley, the drama stars DeWanda Wise, Betty Gilpin, Gabrielle Creevy, John Patrick Amedori and Blair Underwood.

Recurring guest stars include Ravi Patel, Austin Stowell, Lola Kirke, Jason Ralph, Blair Redford, Jess Gabor, Tony D. Head, BrĂan F. O'Byrne and Heather Goldenhersh.

Lisa Taddeo developed the series based on her novel of the same name. She executive produces with showrunner Laura Eason, Emmy Rossum, Kathy Ciric and director Louise Friedberg.
