Development News - March 15, 2023

ABC's Drop-Off and Judgement.

  • Michaela Conlin has been cast as a series regular on the comedy pilot starring Ellie Kemper, Karan Soni and Judy Greer. She previously starred for twelve seasons in FOX's Bones. She also recurred on Paramount's Yellowstone, AppleTV+'s For All Mankind and Hulu's Dollface
  • She will play Liz, another single mom at Julia's (Kemper) kids' school. She's cool, doesn't care but she loves her kids, 7-year-old Danny and the baby. Unlike Calvin (Soni) and Julia (Kemper), Liz doesn't like the inner circle of moms at their kids' school and doesn't want to be part of them. Liz lives a bit of an alternative lifestyle - there's pretty much nothing in her apartment except a giant mattress on the floor - and her breezy disregard for the status quo is comforting to both Calvin and Julia.
  • Reid Scott and François Arnaud are set as the male leads on the drama pilot starring Sarah Shahi. Scott previously starred for seven seasons in HBO's Veep and currently stars in the fifth and final season of Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Arnaud starred for two seasons in NBC's Midnight, Texas and two seasons in FOX's The Moodys.
  • Scott will play Tommy Quinn, a high-powered defense attorney and partner at one of D.C.'s most successful law firms. He's charming, confident and - some might say - deliciously arrogant. He's the brother of Deputy Solicitor General Leo Quinn and finds himself instantly attracted to Leo's lawyer girlfriend, Mia (Shahi), who he lures to his firm for reasons that might not be entirely above board.
  • Arnaud will play Leo Quinn, a driven, righteous D.C. attorney, currently serving as Deputy Solicitor General. He and his brother Tommy have a contentious history, which isn't helped when Tommy hires Leo's girlfriend to work at his firm. Sweet and intelligent, Leo is an incredibly supportive partner, a proud feminist and is happy to help Mia achieve her goals. When those goals begin to conflict with his own ambitions, it will test his deepest beliefs and his relationship.
