'The Good Place' Creator Mike Schur and Star Ted Danson Reunite for Netflix Comedy Based on Documentary 'The Mole Agent'

Netflix has today given a series order to an untitled original comedy series reuniting The Good Place creator Mike Schur and star Ted Danson. The first season will produce 8 episodes.






Based on the 2021 documentary The Mole Agent, a retired man, Charles (Danson), gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a PI and becomes a mole in a secret investigation. 

Schur and Danson will executive produce with Morgan Sackett, David Miner, Maite Alberdi, Marcela Santibañez, Julie Goldman and Christopher Clements. Universal Television, 3 Arts Entertainment, Micromundo Producciones and Motto Pictures will produce.

Across his career, Danson has received 17 Emmy Award nominations for his performances in NBC's Cheers, ABC's Something About Amelia, FX's Damages and NBC's The Good Place. He won in 1990 and 1993 for the eighth and eleventh seasons of Cheers.

In addition to creating The Good Place, Schur co-created NBC's Parks and Recreation, Peacock's Rutherford Falls and FOX/NBC's Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He also serves as an executive producer on HBO Max's Hacks and Netflix's Master of None.
