Paramount+ Renews 'Star Trek: Lower Decks' and 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds'

Paramount+ has today renewed its original animated comedy series Star Trek: Lower Decks for a fifth season and its original drama series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds for a third season. Moreover, the streamer has announced summer premiere dates for new seasons of both series.





The 10-episode second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will launch on Thursday, June 15. New episodes will be released weekly every Thursday.

The drama stars Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia and Babs Olusanmokun.

The second season will feature the return of special guest star Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk and new addition Carol Kane in a recurring role as Pelia.

Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers serve as co-showrunners. They executive produce with Alex Kurtzman, Jenny Lumet, Aaron Baiers, Heather Kadin, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth. CBS Studios, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment produce.

The third season will also produce 10 episodes.


The 10-episode fourth season of Star Trek: Lower Decks will debut in late summer - with a precise premiere date being announced at a later date.

The voice cast includes Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, Eugene Cordero, Dawnn Lewis, Jerry O'Connell, Fred Tatasciore and Gillian Vigman.

Mike McMahan created the series. He executive produces with Alex Kurtzman, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Katie Krentz and Aaron Baiers. CBS Eye Animation Productions, Secret Hideout, Roddenberry Entertainment, 219 Productions and Titmouse produce.

The fifth season will also produce 10 episodes.
