Development News - April 13, 2023

FX's Peep Show and NBC's Non-Evil Twin.

NBC's NON-EVIL TWIN
  • Christina Anthony, Ray Santiago and Melanie J. Newby will co-star on the comedy pilot written by and starring Amber Ruffin. Anthony previously starred for two seasons in ABC's Mixed-ish. Santiago starred for three seasons in Starz's Ash vs. Evil Dead. Newby recurred on AMC's Halt and Catch Fire, FOX's The Resident and HBO Max's Doom Patrol.
  • Anthony will play Christina, Angie's (Ruffin) assistant/acolyte who believes she's the smartest person in the room and is easily annoyed by others. Her ambition and devotion to Angie means she'll do whatever it takes to help Amber (also Ruffin) keep up the ruse as faux-CEO.
  • Santiago will play Tony, the well-meaning but brutally honest marketing VP dismissed by Angie but embraced by Amber, who is drawn to his oddball sweetness.
  • Newby will play Amy, Angie's tough-as-nails vegan cellmate, who refuses to put Angie on a pedestal like everyone else and instead prefers to kick the pedestal out from under her.
FX's PEEP SHOW
  • Minnie Driver and Amandla Jahava will play the lead roles in the comedy pilot based on the British sitcom of the same name. Driver previously starred for two seasons in NBC's About a Boy and three seasons in ABC's Speechless. Jahava recurred on HBO Max's Rap Sh!t.
  • The comedy will follow the relationship between a long-suffering assistant (Jahava) and her boss (Driver), an emotionally unstable tech entrepreneur.
