AppleTV+ Reveals New Premiere Date for Season 2 of 'The Afterparty'

AppleTV+ has today announced a new premiere date for the upcoming second season of its original comedy series The Afterparty.

The 10-episode second season will launch on Wednesday, July 12 with its first two episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Wednesday until the season finale on September 6. The streamer originally announced a late April premiere for the new season, which was ultimately delayed a few weeks ago.

In the new season, a wedding is ruined when the groom is murdered and every guest is a suspect. Detective Danner returns to help Aniq and Zoë solve whodunnit by questioning family members, star-crossed lovers and business partners, and hearing each suspect's retelling of the weekend, each with their own unique perspective and visual style.

Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson and Zoë Chao reprise their roles from the first season.

New cast additions for the second season include Elizabeth Perkins, Zach Woods, Paul Walter Hauser, Poppy Liu, Anna Konkle, Jack Whitehall, Vivian Wu, John Cho and Ken Jeong.

Chris Miller created the comedy. He executive produces with Phil Lord and Anthony King. Sony Pictures Television, TriStar Television and Lord Miller produce.
