Peacock Slots Premiere Date for New Comedy 'Twisted Metal' Starring Anthony Mackie

Peacock has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original comedy series Twisted Metal starring Anthony Mackie.

The 10-episode first season will premiere on Thursday, July 27. New episodes will be released weekly every Thursday.

Based on the PlayStation game series, the high-octane action comedy follows a motor-mouthed outsider (Mackie) offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he'll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.

In addition to Mackie, the comedy stars Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Will Arnett and Joe Seanoa.

Guest stars include Neve Campbell, Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans and Lou Beatty Jr.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick developed the series, with Michael Jonathan Smith serving as showrunner. They executive produce with Mackie, Arnett, Marc Forman, Jason Spire, Peter Principato, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan Hermen Hulst and director Kitao Sakurai. Sony Pictures Television, Universal Television, PlayStation Productions, Electric Avenue, Inspire Entertainment, Artists First and Make It With Gravy Productions produce.
