The CW Cancels 'Kung Fu' and 'The Winchesters'

The CW has today decided to cancel its original drama series Kung Fu after three seasons and its original drama series The Winchesters after one season. The cancellations come in the midst of a significant shakeup in the network's programming strategy.





Kung Fu starred Olivia Liang, Kheng Hua Tan, Eddie Liu, Shannon Dang, Jon Prasida, Gavin Stenhouse, Vanessa Kai, Tony Chung, JB Tadena, Yvonne Chapman and Tzi Ma.

Christina M. Kim developed the drama based on the ABC series that aired from 1972 to 1975. She executive produced with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Martin Gero, David Madden and Robert Berens. Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions and Kinga Productions produced.

The drama finished its 39-episode run on March 8, 2023.


The Winchesters starred Meg Donnelly, Drake Rodger, Nida Khurshid, Jojo Fleites, Demetria McKinney and Bianca Kajlich.

Robbie Thompson developed the drama, which served as a prequel to The CW's Supernatural. He executive produced with Jensen Ackles, Danneel Ackles, David H. Goodman, John Showalter and Glen Winter. Warner Bros. Television, CBS Studios and Chaos Machine Productions produced.

The drama ended its 13-episode run on March 7, 2023.
