Disney+ has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Goosebumps inspired by the bestselling book series by R.L. Stine.
The 10-episode first season will debut across both Disney+ and Hulu on Friday, October 13 with its first five episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Friday. Moreover, the first two episodes will air on Freeform on October 13 as part of its "31 Nights of Halloween" programming.
Plunging viewers into a world of mystery and suspense, the series follows a group of five high schoolers as they embark on a shadowy and twisted journey to investigate the tragic passing three decades earlier of a teen named Harold Biddle - while also unearthing dark secrets from their parents' past.
The first season draws on elements from five books in the series - including Say Cheese and Die!, The Haunted Mask, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, Go Eat Worms! and Night of the Living Dummy.
The drama stars Justin Long, Rachael Harris, Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig and Will Price.
Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman developed the series. They executive produce with Hilary Winston, Neal H. Moritz, Iole Lucchese, Pavun Shetty, Conor Welch, Caitlin Friedman, Erin O'Malley and Kevin Murphy. James Eagan and Nick Adams serve as co-executive producers. Sony Pictures Television and Scholastic Entertainment produce.
