AppleTV+ Announces Premiere Date for New Comedy 'Palm Royale' Starring Kristen Wiig, Laura Dern and Allison Janney

AppleTV+ has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original comedy series Palm Royale starring Kristen Wiig.

The 10-episode first season will launch on Wednesday, March 20 with its first three episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Wednesday until the season finale on May 8.

The true underdog story follows Maxine Simmons (Wiig) as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society. As she attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, the series asks the same question that still baffles us today: How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has? Set during the powder keg year of 1969, Palm Royale is a testament to every outsider fighting for their chance to truly belong.

In addition to Wiig, the comedy stars Laura Dern, Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Mindy Cohn, Julia Duffy and Kaia Gerber.

Special guest stars appearing in the first season include Bruce Dern and Carol Burnett.

Abe Sylvia developed the comedy loosely based on the novel "Mr. and Mrs. American Pie" by Juliet McDaniel. He executive produces with Wiig, Dern, Jayme Lemons, Katie O'Connell Marsh, John Norris, Sharr White, Sheri Holman and director Tate Taylor. Apple Studios, Aunt Sylvia's Moving Picture Company, Jaywalker Pictures and Boat Rocker Media produce.
