Tom Ripley (Scott), a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son (Flynn) to return home. Tom's acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder.
In addition to Scott, Fanning and Flynn, the drama stars Elliot Sumner, Maurizio Lombardi, Margherita Buy and John Malkovich.
Steven Zaillian wrote and directed all 8 episodes of the drama based on the "Tom Ripley" novels by Patricia Highsmith. He executive produces with Garrett Basch, Clayton Townsend, Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner, Sharon Levy and Philipp Keel. Scott serves as a producer.
